Developed by Tom Paterson, our "Thinking Wavelengths" are how we catalogue the world, tolerate change, and juggle details. Of the five Wavelengths, Keepers are organized, capable of handling many variables, and good with people. We can manage "the whole store," possessing an appreciation for the administrative and the strategic since we have both concrete and abstract thinking skills. We can handle details while also seeing the broader vision. We make great mediators in conflicts; good personnel managers, directors of departments or programs, and plant managers; and awesome executive assistants.

I have a great desire to learn and want to continuously improve. The process of learning, as well as the outcome, excites me.
I work hard and possess a great deal of stamina. I take immense satisfaction in being busy and productive.
Aside from her professional acumen and accomplishments, Sam leads with her heart and genuinely wants to be a part of making the world around her a better place. She has an innate ability to connect with people and was responsible for supporting a number of Employee Resource Groups at Indigo. She is not afraid of “the ask,” and her ability to do that was demonstrated countless times, both by her willingness to unblock her development teams to working with those interested parties to help start many of the ERGs from the ground up. Personally, I am grateful for what I have learned from Sam. I have complete faith in Sam’s ability to make an impact in any organization that she is a part of, and I hope that we get to work together again in the future.

Why do I also go by "Shay?" Well, did you know that "Samantha" is one of the most popular names for girls? Moreover, Samuel is pretty popular as well, so there is a good chance that there is another Sam already at your organization! To limit confusion and introduce some uniqueness, I also go by "Shay" (as in my initials "SH"). So there you have it – Samantha "Sam Shay" Horvath – and some people do actually call me "Sam Shay!" All the above is fine with me!
Stitch (whose primary language is called Tantalog) has been my avatar since my first year as a graduate student. Do any of his emotional expressions look familiar? Then you might just be the alien life form Stitch too! (Translation: Hi, friend!)
